Documents To Go voor iPhone & iPod touch

Erg lang geleden toen ik nog (of al, 't is maar net hoe je het ziet) een Handspring Visor had voelde ik me de de koning te rijk omdat ik daar Documents To Go op had. Zo kon je heel handig en mobiel je Office-bestanden meenemen op je PDA en ze ook nog vrij basaal bewerken. Een speciale desktopapplicatie zorgde ervoor dat de bestanden netjes gesynchroniseerd werden tussen mijn iBook G3 SE/400 (jaja, zo lang geleden is het al) en de Visor.

Toen de eerste iPhone en iPod touch werden geïntorduceerd werd er direct gekeken in de richting van Dataviz, want Documents To Go was immers een must have app voor zakelijke gebruikers. Uiteindelijk heeft het nog lang genoeg geduurd want pas sinds deze week is Documents To Go ook voor de iPhone en iPod touch beschikbaar.

De Dataviz website vat mooi samen dat er 2 versies van Documents To Go zijn en wat ze precies kunnen.

Documents To Go is an all-in-one application with support for Microsoft® Word, Excel & PowerPoint, PDF, Apple iWork and other files. It includes a desktop application (Win and Mac) to provide 2-way file synchronization and is the only solution that supports Microsoft Word 2007 editing. A version with support for attachments is also available for Microsoft Exchange e-mail users who need to send, receive and edit attachments on the iPhone.

De Exchange Attachments edition kost tot 30 juni slechts €7,99. De eenvoudigere versie kost zelfs maar €3,99. Bovendien is de toekomstige update die ervoor zorgt dat je ook Excel-bestanden op je iPhone of iPod touch kunt bewerken gratis (zodra deze uitkomt).
